I have worked in the insurance industry for 32 years. I have been married for 42 years and have two sons, one granddaughter, and one grandson.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Arts & Science from Southwest Texas State University.
I was a past President of the San Antonio Association of Health Underwriters, and have also served on the Texas Association of Health Underwriters Board in Budget and Finance. I am very active in the Legislative arena and have served on the Legislative Committee for School District Affairs. I actively lobby both on a State and National level on issues that concern the Insurance Industry.
I was one of the original agents chosen to represent the Texas Healthy Kids program (CHIPS) when it was first introduced, and traveled to the outlying areas explaining this important program to parents and organizations.
My background consists of 14 years of sales and service experience working for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I then became part of the Cisneros Benefit Group with X-Mayor Henry Cisneros. After a short period of time I formed my own company ABC/Associated Benefit Consultants, Inc. We work in the Major Medical arena along with Life, Dental etc. We specialize in employee benefit programs.
I currently hold the designation of Chartered Benefit Consultant.
